IGP Vaucluse Merlot Cellier des Princes red

Merlot a very typical grape variety from Bordeaux but can also grow in the Rhône with excellent results, as the hot and dry climate from the Rhône allows the Merlot to ripen well keeping enough acidity to be well balanced.

Terroir
Clay and silicious. Coming from vineyards surrounding Châteauneuf du Pape.
Grape varieties
Merlot 100%.
Winemaking
Destalking, 8 to 10 days vatting time , pumping over and punching of the cap. Traditional vinification with controlled temperature at 26 to 28°C.
Ageing
6 months in tank
Tasting notes
This deep red coloured wine shows expressive and complex aromas of blackcurrant, liquorice and wild spices. In the mouth, it is soft and velvety with pleasant flavours of red fruits with a spicy finale.
Tasting advices
To enjoy now or can be kept up to 2 – 3 years. Serve at 14°-16°C.
Food pairings
This wine will perfectly match ribs, pizzas, roasted meat and cheese.
